Birthplace: Tamale, Ghana
Abubakar Ahmed, often known as Blakk Rasta, was born to devoted Ahmadi-Muslim parents on September 2, 1974, in Tamale. Growing up in the slums of Moshie-Zongo and Aboabo, he experienced and saw a lot of unfairness, favoritism, and other social issues; as a result, his music and art represent his experiences and his passion to fight injustice.

Due to the fact that both of his parents were educators, he felt that education was essential. He studied at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Land Economy. Additionally, he holds an Msc in Oil and Gas Management from the University of Coventry.
